Overview
Christian Family Montessori School (CFMS) is seeking passionate, collaborative educators to help grow and shape our AMI adolescent program in Washington, DC., which launched in 2024. In July 2026, CFMS will become Oak Grove Montessori School. We are adopting a new name that better reflects our inclusive vision of belonging and the diverse families we serve, while preserving the Montessori philosophy and spiritual grounding that guides our work each day.
For 45 years, CFMS has been a cornerstone of Montessori education in the D.C. region, offering a rare blend of high-quality Montessori practice paired with deep commitment to social equity and spiritual formation. The school is AMI-recognized at the Primary, Elementary, and Adolescent levels.
Why Join CFMS?
Mission-Driven Accessibility
We are uniquely dedicated to financial accessibility; our tuition level is 70% lower than typical independent schools in the area, and nearly half of our families receive need-based tuition assistance, creating a truly diverse socioeconomic community.
Rooted in Spiritual Formation
We seek to support the spiritual and moral development of adolescents alongside their academic and social growth. Our lower school program is uniquely integrated with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, an expansive spiritual formation program rooted in Montessori principles. This is a community where all faiths are celebrated and each person is encouraged to honor their religious traditions more fully and faithfully in their own lives.
Active ABAR Commitment
We are a POC and LGBTQIA affirming community that actively engages in Anti-Bias/Anti-Racism (ABAR) work across all levels of the school.
A Collaborative Environment
Our staff is collegial and collaborative, and educators work closely together across disciplines to support adolescents through integrated, experiential learning. CFMS also enjoys a close partnership with the nearby Washington Montessori Institute, providing ongoing opportunities for professional collaboration and growth.
A Strong Parent Partnership
CFMS’s Parent Co-operative model creates an unusually engaged and connected school community. Families play an active role in supporting the life of the school through service, leadership, and community participation, fostering deep relationships between parents, staff, and students. This spirit of shared investment and collaboration is central to CFMS’s culture and helps sustain our commitment to accessibility, belonging, and community care.

Compensation includes health insurance, retirement contributions, competitive salaries, and a dedicated professional development budget. Full and part time positions are available.
