Overview

We are seeking an Upper Elementary teacher (multi-aged classroom, including grades four, five and six) to join our team.

State of Florida teacher certification for K-6 is required. Montessori Upper Elementary experience/certification is preferred but not required. Teachers who join us without Montessori certification must commit to beginning upper elementary training within twelve months of hire and a summer cohort before the start of the school year is preferable. The school will provide a scholarship for half the training cost and an interest-free loan for tuition for the rest, if desired.

Candidates should have knowledge of Montessori philosophy, and able to support a joyful, child-centered learning environment. Our large and bright classroom suites are shared by two classes of children, with two teachers and one teacher’s assistant. Upper Elementary teachers are enlightened generalists, teaching all subjects to their own roster of students. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a co-operative environment. Our school uses restorative justice and places a great emphasis on whole child education and community.

Qualifications and Skills:

Current Florida state K-6 teaching certification is required. Montessori certification preferred but not required immediately. Commencement of Montessori training within 12 months of hire is required for teachers not possessing certification at time of hire.

Pay is commensurate with OCPS. We do not participate in FRS but do have contributory retirement savings options.

Pay: $47,500.00 – $66,000.00 per year
