St. Helena Montessori is currently seeking to fill a position for a Primary Assistant in a 3-6 yr old Primary classroom of up to 36 students and an Elementary Assistant for ages 6-12. We are an Association Montessori International recognized school which was founded in 1981 to serve the Napa Valley community. We currently have a Toddler classroom, two Primary Classrooms, three Elementary Classrooms, an Adolescent Program and a farm. In addition, SHMS offers religious instruction through the internationally recognized Montessori Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
Candidates must have no criminal record, have reliable transportation, have undergone a recent physical and TB test, have completed influenza, measles and T-dab vaccinations and be willing to be fingerprinted and undergo a background check. AA or higher degree and experience working with children preferred. Early Childhood units desirable, but not required. Must be willing to take ECE coursework. Fluency in Spanish would be valuable.

About St Helena Montessori School
St. Helena Montessori was founded in 1981 by Mrs. Elena Heil and Mrs. Olga McAdam, who taught the first Montessori Primary Class. In 1985, the school expanded to include a Montessori Elementary Class. In 1989, it was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) public benefit corporation and a Board of Directors became the governing body of the school. In 2008, an Adolescent Program / Farm School was added. The Adolescent Program maintains a farm on the school’s 20-acre parcel on the east side of St. Helena, which became the permanent home to the entire school in the fall of 2013. In November of 2016, our school launched a Toddler Option for children as young as 18 months.St. Helena Montessori offers four levels of Montessori education: a four-day-per-week Toddler program for children between 18 months and 3 years, a five-day-per-week Primary program for children from the age of 2 ½ years through 6 years, an Elementary program for 6 through 12 years, and an Adolescent / Farm School for 12- to 15-year-old students.
