At Austin Micro School, we began with a simple but powerful question:

“What would Maria Montessori do today?”

Our journey started with a deep respect for authentic Montessori philosophy and Maria Montessori’s scientific, child-centered approach to education. In honoring her legacy, we have remained committed to observation, research, and data-driven innovation.

The result is a learning environment grounded in strong Montessori foundations and expanded through complementary practices that naturally extend the Montessori method: inquiry-based learning, real-world projects, executive functioning development, creativity, and student leadership.

We are looking for passionate Montessori educators who love the philosophy deeply to lead our Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Adolescent communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain the learning environment
  • Facilitate student inquiry by guiding students in identifying and developing research questions
  • Protect uninterrupted work cycles and foster student independence
  • Observe each child closely to support individualized growth and development
  • Present lessons with intention, clarity, and respect for developmental readiness
  • Cultivate a peaceful, collaborative mixed-age community
  • Model professionalism, and grace and courtesy
  • Maintain student records, observations, and ongoing planning

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees
  • Experience as a Lead Guide
  • Montessori certification a PLUS
